Restek’s Mike Shuey Receives Accolade From The ESOP Association

We are delighted to announce that Mike Shuey was honored with the 2011 Employee Owner of the Year Award from the PA/DE chapter of The ESOP Association!

Since his first day on the job, Mike has been a fervent supporter of both Restek and the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) model. He is a long-time member and current leader of our Employee Owners Communication Team, and his passion has pushed him to routinely promote ESOPs by giving company-wide presentations, helping coordinate our annual shareholder meetings, and educating other employee owners. Extending his involvement far beyond the borders of the Restek campus, Mike is also a regular attendee of ESOP conferences and has been the company point person for communicating with our representatives at the state and federal level.

A 7-year veteran of Restek, Mike Shuey worked his way up from Customer Service Representative to Group Leader and, now, to Domestic Customer Service Supervisor. His rapid advancement is a result of the same dedication and energy that drove him to become one of our resident ESOP experts and earned him this honor.

Our own Pete Rose took home this prestigious award last year, making it two in a row for Restek. Mike and Pete are the embodiment of the principles and core values on which Restek was founded, and we are proud to call them fellow employee-owners.

Restek Honored by Laboratory Equipment Magazine

New PLOT columns from Restek were recently selected as a winner of Laboratory Equipment's Reader's Choice Award. These columns feature an innovative bonding process that significantly reduces particle release and column blockage, resulting in highly stable flows and retention times. This new stabilization technology can increase the accuracy of impurities analysis and is especially beneficial to flow switching applications. Winners were selected by practicing scientists and engineers based on column value and performance in research labs.

Restek Products Honored by Laboratory Equipment Magazine

Two Restek product lines were recently honored by Laboratory Equipment magazine. QuEChERS SPE tubes were selected as a winner and Biphenyl HPLC columns were named as a finalist in the magazine’s 2009 Reader’s Choice Awards competition. Winners were selected by practicing scientists and engineers based on the value and performance of the products in research labs. 2007 ESOP Company of the Year

Restek Corporation has been named the 2007 ESOP Company of the Year by the PA/DE Chapter of The ESOP Association at the Chapter's Annual Meeting on September 19 in Scranton, PA.

The ESOP Association is the national trade association for companies with employee stock ownership plans (ESOP) and the leading voice in America for employee ownership.

The PA/DE Chapter represents ESOP companies in Pennsylvania and Delaware.

2006 - Best Places To Work In Pennsylvania

Restek Corporation has been named to the 2006 list of Best Places to Work in PA. This marks the 3rd time Restek has placed on the list since the program began in 2000.

2002 - Paul Silvis Named Entrepreneur of the Year 2002

PA Business Central chose Restek's Head Coach in the For-Profit, Large Business category.

“Paul's innovative approach to business and the results speak for themselves. He created a company out of nowhere and has been successful beyond all expectations. Paul epitomizes the model by which many entrepreneurs should compare themselves,” said Todd A. Erdley of Videon Central, one of this year's contest judges and a recipient of the newspaper's Entrepreneur 2001 award in the Small Business category.

2002 - Finalist: Pennsylvania Governor's Export Excellence Award

These highly prestigious awards are presented to Pennsylvania companies that excel as contributors to the Commonwealth's international market trade activities.

Restek has 3 subsidiaries and 68 dealers in 60 countries, with representation on every continent.

2002 - Healthy Workplace Award for Small Sized Companies — Pennsylvania Psychological Association

This award is given to companies that demonstrate a commitment to areas such as family support, employee development, employee involvement, promotion of a healthy workplace, community involvement and health and safety. Last year, Restek received honorable mention in 2001.

Restek's online ordering system took top honors
at Pindar Systems' 2002 User Conference.

2001 - Outstanding Technology Company of the Year, 2001

The Chamber of Business & Industry of Centre County chose Restek Corporation for this honor. The selection was made by the membership of the Chamber, rather than a committee.

2001 - Best Places to Work in Pennsylvania (#23)

For the second year in a row, Restek Corporation was named one of the Best Places to Work in Pennsylvania.

2000 - Best Places to Work in Pennsylvania (#20)

Restek Corporation was named one of Pennsylvania's Best 100 Places to Work, ranking 20th among companies with 50 to 250 employees. Winners were identified by the Great Places to Work Institute, that also creates the instrument used in the FORTUNE "100 Best Places to Work."

1998 - NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center Group Award

Presented to personnel and companies who contributed in the design, development, fabrication, and assembly of the Cassini Ion and Neutral Mass Spectrometer (INMS) and the Huygens Probe Gas Chromatograph Mass Spectrometer (GCMS).

1996 - State College Business and Professional Women's Employer of the Year Award
