Don joined Restek in September of 1990, when Restek was only 5 years old, and has been a key player in the growth
of the company over the past 15 years. He has served as a manufacturing supervisor, technical marketing specialist,
and marketing manager, and as Director of Marketing and International Distribution. From his most recent position
as Vice President of Sales and Marketing, he assumed the role of Head Coach at Restek’s 20th anniversary, in
October 2005. Don was chosen to serve as Restek’s new head coach because of his passion for Plus 1 customer
service, his zest for learning, his years of experience, and his vision to take Restek to the 100 million
dollar sales level.
Don received his M.B.A. from the University of Notre Dame, where he graduated with high honors, and holds a B.S.
in Wildlife Science from the Pennsylvania State University. He also has completed numerous business courses,
including Six Sigma Champion Training; Negotiating (Karras International);
Bartell Leadership
Flight School
; Team Management and Participation (Pat Knobloch); The Magic of Conflict (Thomas
Crum); Good to Great Seminar (Jim Collins); Babson Program on Corporate Entrepreneurship; and
Effective Leadership (Penn State University).
Don is and has been involved in numerous community and professional organizations, including Centre Volunteers
In Medicine (Board of Directors), Leadership Centre County, Central Pennsylvania Forum for the Future (Board
of Directors), College Township Representative (Regional Low Income Housing Task Force & Citizen’s Advisory
Committee), St. Paul’s United Methodist Church (Senior Choir), Penn State Karate Club (6th degree black belt,
Head Instructor), Beta Gamma Sigma–National Honor Society for Business & Management.
Don’s interests also include virtually any outdoor activity: hunting, fishing, hiking, and camping, and he
enjoys coaching and involvement with his children’s team sports.
