Restek’s Vu-Union® and “Y” Vu-Union® connectors combine the benefits of Press-Tight® connectors and metal unions. A precision tapered glass insert joins the two fused silica ends together in a union similar to that made in a Press-Tight® connector. The glass window allows visual confirmation of the seal. Ferrules on both ends of the glass insert add a positive seal between the end of the column and the connector. Because of this secondary seal, the union cannot unexpectedly disconnect or lose sealing integrity, even at temperatures as high as 400°C.
Vu-Union® Helping Hand
The Helping Hand is designed to hold in place the metal housing of the Vacuum Vu-Union® connector. This allows you to easily assemble the columns in the glass insert and tighten the nuts. The Helping Hand is included with the Vacuum Vu-Union® connector.
