How do I connect a fused silica guard column to a fused silica GC column?

Restek offers several options. The Press-Tight® Connector, a glass connector with a tapered internal diameter at each end, is the quickest and least expensive option. A popular and effective alternative is the MXT®-Union Connector, which will not break and ensures low dead volume. Another option is the Gerstel GRAPHPACK 3D/2 Connector, which is more expensive, and requires more time to install, but maintains a highly reliable connection.

Our newest connectors, the Vu2 Union™ Connector and the SeCure™ “Y” Connector, combine the simplicity of a Press-Tight® Connector with the strength of a metal union, and can be used to a temperature of 400°C.
