When you hear the word “peak” at Restek, it is usually in reference to chromatography. However, it took on a whole new meaning recently when Vlad Safyanovskiy, Director of Information Technology, reached the top of Mount Kilimanjaro, fulfilling a lifelong dream. As a child, Vlad had set a goal of reaching the summit, something he was determined to achieve before the mountain’s glaciers and snow cap melted.
Ascending 4,900 meters from the base to the apex nearly 6,000 meters above sea level is a physically challenging yet greatly rewarding trek. After returning home, Vlad commented that “Kilimanjaro is an inspiration and transformation point for me, both professionally and personally. Once you reach the top, and actually stand there for almost an hour, you understand that what seemed impossible is actually doable.”
In addition to Mount Kilimanjaro, Vlad has climbed Mount Washington (1,917 m) and Mount Kinabalu (4,096 m). Congratulations, Vlad, on another remarkable accomplishment, and thank you for your role in keeping Restek at the top of the chromatography industry!
