Skinner List - SV MegaMix® (33 components)
- Includes 33 compounds listed in 1997 Region 5 Skinner List.

To simplify analyses of specific semivolatile organic compounds in petroleum refinery wastes, Restek chemists developed our Skinner List Semivolatiles MegaMix® Reference Mix. The mix combines the acid extractables and semivolatiles, as opposed to separate mixes, as offered by other suppliers. Users of the Restek mix can shorten the calibration preparation time and analysis for petroleum refinery wastes. Analytes in this mix are dissolved in methylene chloride at a convenient 2000µg/mL concentration. Because 3-methylphenol and 4-methylphenol coelute, they are included at half the concentration of the other compounds; users of the mix can calibrate at lower levels in order to quantify these compounds at the required limits.
The only compound of possible interest excluded from the mix is benzenthiol, because it is unstable and rapidly degrades in methylene chloride. Benzenthiol was part of the 1985 Skinner List, but it is not included in the latest (1997) revision; it is listed as an optional constituent. All other compounds, regular and optional, from the latest semi-volatile Skinner List, are included in the mix.
