In this video poster, we present sample prep and instrumental strategies for effective quantitation of California’s list of pesticides and mycotoxins in cannabis brownies. Using both LC-MS/MS and GC-MS/MS, good results were obtained for all target compounds in terms of linearity, accuracy, and precision.
Samples containing high amounts of lipids or solid fats are perhaps the most challenging matrices to analyze. Here, we examine a range of approaches that can be effective, including dSPE (with PSA, MgSO4, and C18-EC sorbents), cooling/freezing QuEChERS extracts, cSPE, and nonpolar solvent partitioning.
