Method 8081B: Organochlorine Pesticides Analysis by GC (Extended)

Many labs extend the list of compounds tested using Method 8081B to include other organochlorine pesticides. Rtx-CLPesticides and Rtx-CLPesticides2 columns are ideal for these determinations and can be used in a parallel dual-column configuration to reliably quantify 38 commonly analyzed organochlorine pesticides, as well as many other compounds. Full separations are achieved between both columns and the unique, optimized selectivity allows additional compounds to be included. (Note that since extended compound lists vary among laboratories the lists compared here are not identical.)

  • Best balance of speed and selectivity.
  • All compounds are resolved on at least one column.
Competitor A column 1 / column 2 27 / 29 0 / 3
Competitor B column 1 / column 2 NDP / 16 NDP / 3

Comparison based on published competitor data. All columns tested were 0.32 mm ID. NDP = no data published

The unique selectivity of the Rtx-CLPesticides column pair allows easy separation of extended lists of organochlorine pesticides.

NotesThis chromatogram was obtained using an Agilent micro-ECD. To obtain comparable results, you will need to employ a micro-ECD in addition to confirmational dual columns connected to a 5-meter guard column using a “Y” Press-Tight connector.
