ProEZGC - Now with PLOT capabilities!

ProEZGC not only helps you find what you’re looking for, it also helps us at Restek know what you were looking for, but didn’t find. It helps us figure out how to do better. It’s been clear to us that one of the most-needed additions to ProEZGC is the addition of PLOT capabilities. Our line of PLOT columns is unparalleled, with minimal particle generation, robust flow reproducibility, and the efficiency and user-friendliness everyone should expect from their GC column. You searched, and we took the hint. Now, we are proud to introduce PLOT capabilities to the ProEZGC modeler.

To reach the PLOT libraries, login to ProEZGC, search by phase, and scroll down to the Rt-columns. We have a variety of compounds classes available, depending on the column you are interested in. Also, if instead of searching by phase, you want to search by compound, you should have PLOT columns appropriately recommended for your separation. The initial libraries include permanent gases, light hydrocarbons, and solvents, with more additions to come. As of this blog, columns include the Rt-Alumina BOND/KCl, Na2SO4, and MAPD, RT-Q, QS, S, and U-BOND, and the Rt-MSieve 5A.

Helium, hydrogen, nitrogen, and argon present a special case for the EZGC modeler since they may be analytes or carrier gases. If you are looking for one of these gases and don’t see it on the list, check what carrier you are using. Figure 2 shows an example of what happens when you encounter this overlap of carrier and analyte in the modeler. I am showing all six library compounds on the Rt-MSieve 5A when using helium, but if I switch to hydrogen, nitrogen, or argon, carrier the list goes down to 5 compounds. These compounds are automatically removed, because you wouldn’t be able to see these analytes if they match the carrier gas.
